Re: My Proposed 383 Build.

the eagle set looks good.... i used scat and i prefer king bearings but thatll work... i used the same cam but i bought the full set of lifters AND cam from comp... the heads arnt bad but if i were you id shoot for some 74ish cc combustion chambers or else your compression is gonna be high... i assume you wanna run pump gas?
you have a great set up! be sure to check rod to wall clearance before your final assembly... i know youre gonna have to grind it off... a dremel works well

You'd better talk to Skip before you order. The cam has more lift than he says the heads will handle.

Re: My Proposed 383 Build.

here are the heads i ran with that same cam:
They are cast iron and have 235cc intake runners and 72cc combustion chambers with angle plugs. 2.08/1.6 stainless steel valves, single 1.25inch valve springs that can handle a .600 valve lift. they flowed :
INT / EX
.1-73 / 61
.2-145.1 / 115.3
.3-204.4 / 149.8
.4-250.9 / 170.6
.5-286.1 / 189.6
.6-305 / 198.1
.7-311.1 / 201.8
.8-313 / 203.6

the brand was engine quest

With that cam having such a late intake closing. there's no problem with running 11:1 on pump premium.
