This is probably a stupid question but will the accessories from a 85' 305 work with the a 6.0? i.e. a/c condenser, water pump, pulleys, etc.?

 

Doubt it most of them have changed in some form or another. Get a 6.0 with accessory brackets. Even taking my TBI brackets from a truck and getting/using/whatevering parts from the TPI engine has been a bloody nightmare. Not worth trying to save a few bucks to spend a ton more later.

 

right on. my 6.0 is just block and heads right now and my garage is pretty much full with TPI crap from my 350 (didn't pull the pulleys off of 350 before i got rid of it) things are very unorganized from our move to AZ and I just didn't know if my things would fix on the engine and more importantly in the car.

guy on craigslist was going to trade me a stingray hood and 305 with ALL the goods for a 700r4. just trying to justify if it was a good move or not. Thanks for the info!
