1989 350 TPI SHORT BLOCK HELP

IAM NEW TO TPI STUFF

I NEED SOME HELP WILL THIS GM SHORT BLOCK WORK
1. I WANT TO REUSE MY HEADS AND STOCK TPI http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-12556121/
2 OR USE GM LONG BLOCK ( KEEP THE HEADS FOR ANOTHER PROJECT ) REUSE STOCK TPI & HEADS
( DON'T WANT TO GET A NEW MANIFOLD BUT I AM GETTING NEW CAM )
3. RECOMMEND A ROLLER CAM REPLACEMENT OR LITTLE OVER STOCK IS OK
4. I JUST RATHER GET NEW GM MOTOR THAN REBUILD OLD ONE
PRICE ABOUT $1800.00 PLUS TAX NEW SHORT BLOCK ,CAM ,WATER PUMP,TIMING CHAIN,GASKETS,
THAT'S CLOSE TO MY BUDGET OF $2400

Help: just me posting again GM crate motor 12530283 For 1996-2002 Chevy/Gmc trucks 350 with Roller camshaft will this motor work with my L98 heads and tpi I could use all the accessories from my old motor

Since you are only changing the shortblock, yes it will work fine. However just be ready to compensate as those pistons may raise your compression ratio a bit. But I cant give an exact number based on summits description.

SAME Shortblock Used With #12568758 & #12520270
(1987-1995 Truck Engine) & 1996-2000 Chevy & GMC Vortec 350 (Vin Code R)

When used with 76cc heads compression ratio will be 8.1:1
When used with 64cc heads compression ratio will be 9.1:1
When used with 62cc heads compression ratio will be 9.2:1
When used with 58cc heads compression ratio will be 9.6:1
