The is a 1992 camaro for sale in my area and I would like to but it. $1500 v6, 5 speed, but needs a starter. The v6 is to small for me and I would like to put a 5.7 350 in it. I know it was not an option in 1992 so will this even work? How much should I expect this to cost. I have a friend that will help me so there will be no labor cost. I read the sticky on v6 to v8 but I am unsre what exactly bolts onto the engine being that this will be my first swap.
Thanks!

Buy a Camaro with a V-8 already in it. In 1992 you could get a Z28 with a 350.

Emission passing or no? If it's not passing emission you can do it for next to nothing and in little time. It can cost you anywhere from $300-$+++++++ depending on what you build lol.

Anything after 1995 in MA does not need to pass emissions. Third gen canaria with 5 speeds are rare in my area especially with v8

Yeah... well the 5 speed sucks. I thrashed one at the track behind a budget build 350. Lost 2nd and 3rd in the same day.

I'm so jealous of you...anything made after 1975 here has to pass emissions

I have not worked with engines before but my friend has. The sticky on v6 to v8 said everything that bolts on needs to be replaced. What exactly bolts on?

Entire belt assembly, motor mounts, uh if you change to a carbed motor you gotta change the fuel pump or run a regulator.
