Hi, Im new to this forum and this is my first question. I bought a 95 z-71 with a blown motor and tranny. After talking to alot of people convincing me that a 383 for a daily driver would be just as reliable as a H.O 350, I opted to go with the 383. I will be getting this engine from Harris Performance on ebay, 425 hp with the vortec heads. I know I will have to get a new throttle body either the 454 or the holley but I really havent found a tread that shows exactly how to adapt the new tb to the adapter plate and if you have to get any new plugs and if the original cables will work. I also would need to know anything I may be missing to adapt the new motor to the truck such as high output fuel pump, spark plugs for the longer stroke, and ANYthing else.

The motor will be dropped in with new headers, true duels no Cats, 3 in open element, and 4l60e trans from Monstertransmission.com rated for 500hp. Sorry for the long write. Thanks

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

You realize this Board is dedicated to 3rd generation f-body vehicles, right? Like 1982-1992 Camaro and Firebird?
