v6 to v8 wiring?

i have an 84 v8 car and a 87 v6, i plan on swapping my v8 into the v6 car as the body is alot cleaner. can i just take the tach out of the v8 and switch the faceplates to have the 87 style tach face and have a working tach?

Yes

Easiest way would be to swap everything, engine, dash, all wiring etc
