switching 3.1 V6 to 350 gen 1 vortec

Im in the process of swapping my V6 for a 350 vortec. i have heard good things about the stock vortec heads, except that they can't handle much lift. so that puts me in a bind with my cam choice since the lift will be a little over .500. i kinda want to keep the steel vortec heads, but need advice on if there is a spring kit or head kit that i can buy to make the vortec heads accept the lift i want to reach??

you can easily have the heads machined to handle more lift...

just remember, if youre building the motor yourself, youll need a vortec specific intake, the vortec heads use taller intake runners, so regular intakes dont fit.

yep, since the motor is not installed, pull the heads and have them properly machined for higher lift. Probably want to have screw in rocker studs installed too.

I love my iron vortecs. They really surprised me.
