350 Help.

Heres the deal i recently bought a 350 off of an older farmer to replace my 305. 305 Has almost 200k miles so i think its time for an upgrade. Dont really know what i have so maybe yall could help me out. He only had 1 head for it though so i need to know if i should find another head like this one or if i need to find new heads or maybe a diffrent motor.

Re: 350 Help.

Those heads are from a 283 or 327 from 1960 - 1967. Sionce you only have one, not worth the effort to find another - especially since they won't have acce3ssory bolt holes in them. Look at another set of heads.

Re: 350 Help.

Yup; yerbasic relatively late-model 350 block.

The head is some of the ultimate lowest-perf crap from the late 60s. Lowest of the low from that era, would have been on the lamest 2-bbl motors. Throw it away and move on.

What would be a good set that wouldnt be too hard to find or too expensive?

Vortecs are about the best as far as factory castings and can be had for pretty cheap. But they require intake change/work.
