A/C & air pump bracket

I am not going to use an air pump. Has anyone cut off the portion of the bracket that houses the air pump? Or should I just get an air pump delete pulley?

if you've got the full serpentine setup, just pull the pump and bypass it, pulley not needed, replacement belt:

Re: A/C & air pump bracket

Could I cut the bracket under the a/c compressor since I won't be running the pump? I don't like the look of the empty bracket sticking out and taking up space.
