113 (Aluminum L98 Heads) Vs 624(Iron Heads)
Hello guys I just have a quick question about a head swap that I might be looking at in the near future, I currently have a 355 TPI with with the ever so crappy 624 heads, Flat top piston, and a erson cam with a little more ommph then stock, 224/224 duration (nothing special) and I have a chance to get some aluminum l98 heads casting number 113 for $300, my questions are....
What type of gains would i see from swaping the 624's for the 113's
Will the gains be signicant and will i notice them
Is it even worth it...
just wanted a little info because I hear that your heads make a big diffrence in the power your engine makes and I hear the my 624 heads may be the worst set of sbc heads ever to be manufactured.... LOL!!
Please all input is appreciated, just want to weigh my pro's and cons before I buy the heads......

The difference is HUGE. Impossible to predict just exactly HOW huge on any given motor because of other variables (pistons for example) but it will DEFINITELY be noticeable.
"Worth it" is hard to say... that depends on how much you have to spend to get them, how important making your car less slow is to you, and various other details none of us out here can tell about.

Yea I think its a pretty good deal, the guy wants $300 for them, I'm gonna see if he will go down on the price a little bit, and my cousin owns a cylinder head shop so getting the heads worked on is not a problem, he will charge me little to nothing
