I have a question about a rebuilt 350 i have.the motor is now on the floor and i have a intake manifold and balancer on it withe the heads and pan.i was attaching my 700r4 to it with my new 2200 stall torque converter.While turning the motor to put on the converter bolts,I noticed the engine would not completly turn,it justed stopped.Turned the motor the other way and it stops at a certian point also.I was able to put the converter bolts on ok.The spark plugs are out.I am not sure if this is a problem or not.Any help would be great.

 

Are your torque converter bolts going through the flywheel and interfering with the block? In other words, are the bolts too long? It'll turn about 120 degrees or so before stopping...

 

This certainly is a problem that you want to get resolved now, before you try to turn the engine over with the starter.

I've seen things dropped down an open intake port that happened to have that valve open with the engine in the position it is in, then jam the piston when the engine turned over.

Find out what's making the engine stop. Do whatever it takes to find it.
