350 A/c swap
Hey guys ive been looking everywhere on these forums for info on getting the a/c to work when i do my v6 to chevy 350. Every swap ive seen people just remove and junk the a/c. I want to make it work cause i want to ability to cool off when im cruising around in my firebird. So if you could give me and advice that would be great. I also read that if the ecu is removed you cant run the a/c cause the idle isnt controlled when it kicks on.

Re: 350 A/c swap
While it's true that some cars have a idle adjustment built in the programming to adjust the idle up a tad to compensate for the power drain of the A/C, I wouldn't worry about it - might be an issue if A/C is set on MAX while in a parking lot doing a tight turn (power steering also robs a tad of power as well, and the two together could maybe make an issue).
Your main concern is going to be the correct bracket to attach your V6 A/C unit to a V8 motor - might be a simple thing, but I haven't a clue since I've never been under the hood of a V6 car.

Pretty eeeeeeeeeeezie; just stick a V8 A/C setup on it.
Not sure how this is hard? they just bolt right on and hook right up, shouldn't ake more than maybe 15 extra minutes total in the swap, if yo're as slow as me; but you're [forrest gump] smaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrt [/forrest gump] unlike me, so you'll probably get it done in half that time. Not sure how this is an obstacle or anything? Definitely a GOOD thing to do, since removing the A/C devalues ANY car (nobody I know will buy a car with no telling how many 100,000 miles and however many years of some skank's BO infesting it); so by all means go for the goal you're trying to reach. It's not as hard as you (and all those other fools) think.
