Re: 305 vs 307

I need to make this very clear.I am a engine builder/drag racer has and still grows with every new development. My age has nothing at all to do with my suggestions/advise.I believe we run a first class racing operation because of that.

Sorry about the off topic post guys and to the O/P.

Re: 305 vs 307

Well thanks for the help guys. Today was a sad day took the heads off the 307 and there it was the crack . Ran up #1 cylnder and across the deck down #3 cylinder. So that block is trash i guess that makes u 350 guys happy. We found a 350 1peice rear main but does not have a fuel pump hole on the block.Could we just hook a regulator up to the stock pump in the tank

Re: 305 vs 307

Yes you can do that. Use a 3-port such as the Mallory 4309; inferior types will "dead head" the pump, and you will have short pump life and highly unpredictable pressures.

Re: 305 vs 307

yeah me and my brother n law about cried when we pulled the head off. All that trouble looking for parts and pricing all a waste of time now that the block is ruined

That's OK... just consider it, time to settle down and do it right. We'll all get over it.
