Can it be returnrd to the LT motor?

I have an LT4 hot cam sitting in my parts pile, and was curious to kno.... If I modded that little rod on the front of the cam to use in an L98, can I still turn around and put that same cam back into an LT1 motor? How difficult would it be to pull that rod back out to make it useable? Any insight would be appreciated

it'll work on the 93-94 lt1. isn't the dowel rod pressed in? if so pull it out and save it, then just use one from another cam

It's pressed in since I ran it on my motor... Now I'm gonna sell it but I wanna be sure I'm selling a useable item to my boy. I'm sure it was a certain length for a reason when it was made. But since pressing it in further, I don't know if can be salvaged to work on an LT1 motor again.
