TBI to carb and wire harness questions
I have a 91 firebird that has the original 305TBI that i will be converting to carb. Any and all "tips" would be GREATLY appreciated! Also, i want to get rid of the "computer controlled" wire harness, and just go to a wire harness for the needed accesories ect, alt, dist, starter, batt, power window, power locks, ect. Another question is i am doing away with the A/C compressor and air pump, but how do i run the serpintine belt? Thank you in advance for all and any help with this!

I did this swap on my car. 305TBI to 400Carb. You need the harness on the driver side. dont really need the stuff that comes out of the passenger fender. But dont go cutting. just tuck it away. I can try my best to help you. It was difficult for me since it was my first time with all these wires and only being 18 if I can do. you can do it =D

Re: TBI to carb and wire harness questions
I dont really know how you would run the serpentine belt. Lets see
Alternator- Thick red wire on the back goes to the battery. Its a hot wire all the time. The plug on min has 3 wires. Brown is for the gauge should be fine. red goes to starter. tan/white wire needs a 12+volt when ignition is on inorder for the alternator to charge the battery. (first pic shows mine) idk if yours if different.
The distributor- I have an HEI, All it needs is the thick pink wire on the driver side for the 12+volts ignition on. and the small white wire is for the tachometer.
Ok the starter- Big purple wire goes to its own post. Then all the other red wires go to the other post along with the Positive cable on the battery. (second picture)
Powerwindows and locks- ummm I think they are on there own wiring stuff because I didnt have to mess with them at all when getting rid of the computer.
idk if this is all the same for you but its how I did it.

You can pull the computer related harnesses out without cutting anything. Disconnect from the computer, unclip from the pass-through in the passenger side kick panel/fenderwell, and pull it all out. The only thing you will lose is the torque converter clutch lock-up harness (assuming you have an automatic transmission - your info is incomplete).
