Not that I'm complaining, but I removed the EGR and smog pump when I put the 350 in and don't have an SES light. Is that good or bad?
Secondly, it still has the 305 chip in it. I have an AUJP and know I'll need it tuned due to heads, cam, etc. Is VATS on the chip or in the ECM? In other words, if I put the AUJP in, will it still start?

you need a 350 chip and a 350 knock sensor. egr and smog pump missing wont hurt anything and wont even throw a code. are you saying you dont have a ses light as in the bulb isnt working at all? or just that its not lighting up indicating a problem? and VATS is programed into the chip IIRC.

AUJP is a 350 chip and I have a 350 KS. SES light functional just none right now. I just guessed it would throw a code if they were physically missing. My ? is still: will it start if I put in the AUJP w/o turning the VATS off via tuning?

Not unless you have a vats bypass box that can feed the ecm the correct enable signal
