Can anyone measure their engine bay for me?
I don't readily have access to my car, and it has an engine in it atm anwyways(would hinder measurement taking) could someone measure for me to see if the following sized engine would fit?
height: 30(from bottom of oil pan to top of intake manifold)
width(heads) 23" (25" at exhaust manifolds)
length (transmission flange to balancer) 20.5"
Main one I am worried about is width, it is a DOHC motor.

A SBC, BBC, Pontiac, Olds, Buick and Caddy engine can be stuffed into a third gen. Here are a bunch of engine dimensions. Pick yours and compare it to what you know will fit.

Just a little unconsidered fact. The outside dimensions of a BBC for a 396 is exactly the same for a 700 ci BBC mountain motor.Humm.........
Bam.You could be the only one in the hood like it:

Except a 4.75" stroke will only fit into a tall deck block and I don't think using a 5.300" stroke in a standard tall deck configuration will last for very long.
