Hey all, my grandpa and I just finished building a carbed 383 stroker motor for my '85 z28. It had a 350 carbed motor in it when I bought it. It's got the old 70's set up for the belts and accessories in it. Short water pump, etc. We're almost done, but we have a problem. We can't figure out which accessory brackets go where. I tried looking online, but I can't find any decent pictures or diagrams. If anyone has a setup like this or any good diagrams we could use, I'd really appreciate it if you'd share a picture or two with me. Thanks in advance.

 

It would help if you posted pictures of the brackets you have.

If it were me, I'd go get 3rd gen brackets & pulleys (which would require a long water pump and 3rd gen alternator). I've got a set if you're interested. Has the flat multi-groove alternator belt.

 

I'd like to convert it to the third gen brackets, but money is an issue with Christmas right around the corner. This swap is taking longer than it should have in the first place and since this is my D/D, I need to make the brackets I have work. Do the repair guides for sale in autoparts stores have diagrams of the accessories? For a 60's or 70's camaro, I mean. I'll post pictures of the brackets I have once I get home to the garage.

 

Most of the shop manuals have generic pictures in them. More useful to post pics of what you have.
