ALL FINISHED THE ENGINE SWAP!!!!
So my father and I have finished the bulk of my '87 Firebird engine swap. I bought a SBC 350 from a buddy of mine for $50 bucks that was originally in a '72 Nova and rebuilt everything. New crank, bearings, seals, piston rings, cleaned the cylinder walls, gaskets, cam, lifters, Edelbrock manifold, Holley 600cfm carb, distributor, points, Accel 8mm wires, headers, y-pipe, new alternator, power steering pump, water pump, pulleys, and new 700R4 tranny built for 450+ horse. I painted the engine Pontiac blue (I didn't do it right and the paint is chipping off but oh well). The engine is in and everything lined right up no problems at all. I've had the car for about 4 years now and it's an aftermarket Trans Am. It feels nice to have a car with some power. The V6 was annoying. The tranny went the month before inspection is due so we took the time in between to swap the engines. It took 3-8 hour days but it started right up no problem. Everything went together without a hitch. It's as simple as a car can get; no electrical aside from the necessities. I'm not running A/C or anything so there's a ton of room under the hood. It's been a long time waiting but it's finally finished. It was a lot easier than I thought it'd be.
