Re: help with wiring

the harness on the passenger side is for the ecu, so if you're going strictly carb, you can disconnect it (no cutting necessary) and remove it completely from the car or tuck it into the fender out of the way

Re: help with wiring

these vehicles have a few harnesses and are pretty modular; one harness for the fuse box and guages, one for the lighting, one for the ecm, etc. the passenger side harness coming from the fender area is just for ecm-related wires. a helm's manual is a great resource for wiring info on these cars, but there is also a lot of them available here:

Re: help with wiring

holy run on sentance batman. does the .(period) not work on your keyboard? all the carbed engine needs to run is gas in the bowls and 12v to the coil. gauges require a few more wires, but those are all located in the driver side harness. basically you take the passanger side harness completely out with the engine, and tap off of a wire or two in the driver side harness to get it running.

this question comes up a lot on here, theres TONS of threads on carbed swaps. theres even an atricle in the tech section on the main page about it. a search would yeild more than enough info.
