Re: big block 3rd gen?
I'd rather fit a 455 in it, which I might kinda have. I think it should fit fine in my car...?

Re: big block 3rd gen?
Yes it fits.. Mods are necessary if you're Gunna do it on the cheap.
Good headers like ed quays will make life WAYYY easier. Also Gunna need a built 700 if you plan putting some through it. I run a t56 in my big block 85 but its not cheap to buy parts that will handle the torque.
Also Gunna need a good cooling system aswell as the stock radiator ain't Gunna cut it with a big block. Also I would go aluminum heads to get the weight more around the range of a cast headed small block.
As what Steve said use the search at the top and a lot of swaps have been done.

If this swap wasn't so rare, we'd have a sticky about it in the top section of this forum.
Wait, we do have a sticky about BBC swaps into 3rd gens in the top section of this forum...
Also have a sticky about Pontiac engines into 3rd gens in the top section of this forum.
Quick answer, though - you can't do it "without mods".
