Swapped out my Crossfire for a Goodwrench 350,but I can't get the temp gauge to work?
Hey guys ! Happy New Year, hope all is well.
I have my 82 Trans Am, I swapped out the Crossfire engine, and put in a Crate Goodwrench 350. But I cant get the temperature gauge to work. I tried two sensors, one by the thermostat housing and one on the block,by the driver side, but still nothing. I used the wire from the old temp sensor, that was in the Crossfire, but no luck. Any help would be great, thank you very much

The temperature gauge sender goes in the driver side head, not the block.
Make sure you're getting a gauge sender and not a temp light switch.

Hey bud ! How are you ? Thanks for your help. So I need to order a gauge sender, with the proper size threading. But should I just order for a regular 350 Chevy ? Since I started this whole swap, I had a hard time ordering parts for the engine. Its a Goodwrench 350 engine. Also, which wire should I use from the Crossfire Harness, I know there are two. Thanks

You need to order the sending unit for the car. The Goodwrench head should have the correct threads.
There is only one wire for the gauge sending unit. There was a "coolant temperature sensor" in the thermostat housing, but that only goes to the computer (and is 2-wire).

Ok,great. Is there anyway you can find the part for me on e-bay or another website -? I did try about four sensors before, but I still didn't get any reading. I also tried, two wires, each a single wire with it,but bothing. If possible, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks !

Hey guys ! I still can't get this thing to work. I did found the wire for the gauge, and when I ground it, it goes all the way to the Hot Side. But I have tried a few Sensors on the Goodwrench engine,on the Driver Side block, and connect the wire to it,but nothing happen at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been on this project for over a year now. Thank guys
