my rendition of a carbed 383

nothing fancy, left all the computer wiring and sensor plugs, out of the box 750 double pumper, can mat it from idle and pulls like a freight train
trying to see if i can rig up the factory air inlet to pipe some fresh air into the air cleaner, i'am guessing high 12's maybe better....already has 3600 stall and 4.10 gears

Need more details: Heads, cam, intake.

I sure hope you can hit high-12's. My stockish LS1/4L60E with stall, gears, and headers does that at altitude. 12.0's at sea level.

Re: my rendition of a carbed 383

I loved my 383, and quite frankly I'd still be driving it had the bottom end not failed. Main bearings went bad, no oil pressure. I think I may have been stretching the main bolts, given they were ancient stockers.

I ran a 7.42@92.89 in the 1/8th with a 383, Dart Pro 1 heads, RPM Air Gap, and Comp XR288 hydraulic roller. A blast to drive with the T56 and 4.11's.

I've since gone LS1 and love it, but I miss the brutal 3rd and 4th gear pull my 383 had. I guess a head/cam upgrade will fix that!
