383 stroker or 454 big block

I've got a 91 camaro with the stock 305 TBI and always wanted to put a 383 stroker in it. But I also wanted a 454. I have a buddy willing to sell me a truck with a 383 Stroker in it already has the rear end transmission the works just need to do the swap, But I have a friend whos uncle races at this dirt track near us with a 454 sitting in a shop. The 383 Stroker is complete ready for the swap but the 454 needs to be torn apart cleaned machined and put back together not to mention finding a transmission and a new rear end. (Need a new rear end, Someone decided to neutral drop it and broke a couple teeth off the differential). So the debate is whether buy the truck with the 383 ready for a swap with everything for 1400 or go work on the 454 for a whole summer?

If you want the simplicity of a swap then use the 383.

If you're willing to modify and adapt, then use the 454. The 454 can always be upgraded to make more power easier than the 383 will.

If you're planning on possibly using the rear end from the truck Im pretty sure it will be way more work than it is worth putting it in a thirdgen.
