1992 z28 engine swap qeustions
I have a 1992 z28 with 305 tbi motor. I bought a complete 350 tpi motor with wiring harness, ecm, and pass key box off a 91 z28. Do I need any other parts to complete the swap ?

If your chipped key is working properly you should not need the pass key box. If you do swap it out you may have to change your key chip to match that box.

if you use the key from when it has the 305 and the passkey module just run the vats hz signal wire to pin f10 of the 1227730 ecm

The memcal in the ecm is programed for vats, the old key and old passkey module are matched and will send out a 30hz signal to the ecm.

no the original key was vats it is matched to the passkey module in the car now. those two need to work together. There are a dozen resisters used in vats keys they match the vats module.

I would also only use a acdelco ep241 fuel pump for the conversion. Others have used cheap walbro black market ones and other chinese ones and had bad luck with them. If its your dime for the tank to be dropped do it once.

another issue you will run into is the speedometer. the stock tbi uses a vss buffer. the vss signal on the transmission is 2k ppm and goes to a vss buffer from there it sends a 2k signal to the ecm. I am unsure if this is a optical or magnetic signal but you could try to run the buffer pin c tap off of that to pin b10 on the 1227730 ecm. The last few swaps I did I just reprogramed the memcal to a optical and used pin c6 on the ecm and use the optical feed from the buffer pin F. Another option is to get a 90-92 camaro vss and wire it directly to the ecm and the ecm has a buffer in it to feed the speedometer and cruise.
