Yes that engine would deffinatly be a possiblility, and seems like a very good price. Any sbc will fit.

You will most likely not be able to use the headers on it, so you can sell to help buy thirdgen specific ones.

Yes. Unlike ALL other GM RWD cars, our third-gens have tapered subframe rails. They get closer to the transmission as you look rearward. If you want long-tubes, Hedman makes some 1.625" versions that will be good for this engine. But far easier to use legal shorties like the Hooker 2055s.
