LS swap

im going to be swapping a 4.8/5.3 LS block into my 87.since its a truck motor the oil pan and accessories wont work for the swap. i was wondering if there are any other applications that i could get the parts from besides 4th gen camaros and firebirds? as soon as you say you need a part from an LS1 the price seems to double. thanks for any info!

Re: LS swap

04-06 GTO also uses the same stuff

You could also use a complete corvette, or complete CTSV setup

You cant mix and match stuff outside of that, gto stuff is the same as f body, and ctsv and corvette share the balancer.

CTS-V and corvette are the most compact front to rear.

GMpartsdirect.com for most of the stuff man, you'd be surprised how cheap this stuff is just buying it new for a lot of it, brackets are around $25 ea, my cts-v new ps pump was $100...

Re: LS swap

yeah a good portion of my swap cost will be in the accesories since i have none right now. water pump,ps alt, tensioner and all the brackets plus oil pan and pick up tube and dipstik. probly gonna use stock ls1 manifolds cuz swap headers are an arm and a leg. thanks for the info!
