auto to 5 speed
Hello I am doing an engine swap and figured if i could do a 5 speed swap why not. I have a 98 camaro v6 5speed setup. Could i use all the linkages and that 5 speed with a v8? or would i have to put in reinforced gears?

Re: auto to 5 speed
Someone needs to fill in the blank spots in my memory but as I remember here are the issues
98 uses a different bolt pattern for the bell housing similar to the ford
Input shaft is to long
I cannot remember if the spline count is different I know it is for 3.4 and smaller.
Also if I remember correctly the gear ratios would be really short for a V8

Re: auto to 5 speed
you would be far better off getting a t56 from a LT1 and using that.
better transmission, and dual overdrives
