People with Dart SHP block. I have a question?
I have a Dart SHP SBC. I am currently putting the cam retainer plate on. But the bolts are to large. According to my research, these are the correct bolts: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-14093637/
Did any of you guys run into the same problem?

check with Dart. i have seen a few small things that differ from GM and dart.
on small bolt size. it's not a biggy. just dont use cheepy bolts always use grade 8.
the plate will hold with 10x32.. but i would want bigger my self..
what size fits now?

I've tried a ton of bolts with no luck. Either to big or small. I don't know if maybe it needs to be re-tapped? I'm awaiting an email from Dart.

Update for anyone who might search with the same problem. The correct bolt size is 1/4-20 in. I had to re-tap the holes.

I honestly do not remember what i used. I thought i used the bolts from my old block but maybe thats not the case? There are 2 different plates as you know but i think the bolts were the same. I just cant remember what i used! For some reason tho 1/4-20 sounds right i may have done that but didnt have to tap my block. I really think i just reused my stock 89 bolts which had the star torx bit head i believe.

"I just cant remember what i used!"
I can't either. So there must have been no drama to it.

Re: People with Dart SHP block. I have a question?
There were two areas that I had to deal with. One was the oil pressure pressure port above the oil filter is different on the Dart SHP block then the factory L98 block. I had to do some finagling to fit in the oil pressure sensor so that it cleared my headers.
The other had to do with my AFR rev kit. The cylinder walls are bigger on the SHP block and they come further into the valley area. So we had to do some machining on the AFR rev kit in order to get it to fit. Other than that I can't remember anything else that was out of the ordinary.

Wow my block my oil pressure port was fine and the stock one worked well. Wonder if these blocks changed over the years?
