Re: need a good 350 block

You don't need a whole engine kit if you start with the right '87-up block. Never heard of HotRod Magazine's Junkyard Jewels? For the cost of a good engine kit, you can go to the local salvage yard and get a complete '96-up Vortec 350 long-block assembly. Toss in a cheap cam kit like this: http://www.competitionproducts.com/E...ctinfo/E1166M/ and have an easy 350 HP with a cheap intake like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-226018/ or if you want 375 HP then invest in this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-226019/ For around $500, that's the quickest, cheapest, easiest way to get a running SBC making you smile. Do it any cheaper, you'll be under 250 HP, and that won't make anyone smile.

Re: need a good 350 block

Try going to a junkyard and getting the most wore-out, used-up, worthless POS core you can find, as long as it's out of a 96-2000 truck. All it has to be, is not blown up, and no cracked heads. It can smoke, run like crap, leak, not run at all, etc. etc. etc., as long as those other 2 things are OK.
