hello fellow tgo members.seeking some advise on a swap i cannot decide on.i currently own a 85 iroc z 305tpi 700r4 trans and looking to upgrade.i have been looking and researching into dropping a 350 tpi or 383 stroker.perhaps i can can get some more information as to which engine is best performing and most convenient going from the 305tpi.also if any additional parts will be required for either motor.what will i be looking at as far as spending to complete this swap?excuse the excess amount of ?'s and thanks in advance for any answers.

 

Makes no difference, all SBC are same size on outside and fit the same as your 305

Some idea of your budget , driving ambitions would help?
Bigger engine makes more Hp but uses more fuel and is harder on stock drive line ( more $$ to upgrade parts )

 

great.im looking in the range of $2000-$3000.dont intend on taking it to the track just street driving and being able to hold my own ground if a challenge comes around lol.hopefully trying to make in the ranges between 300-400 hp&trq.thanxs

 

With you living in Calli-a 383 would almost never pass smog testing.
