'69 350 300hp questions.

So I can get a '69 350 complete running engine for a decent price, numbers matching book says its from a camaro or impala if I remember corectly. My questions are A: would it be stupid to make it run with the tpi, or leave the carb.
B: what should it take to get this motor to take an '87 t-top IROC into the mid-high 12's.
C: the car has a 700r4 and a 3:73 posi 10 bolt, how soon will they disintegrate? I'm planing to eventually get a S60 rear end and a turbo 350 but would like to get the car running before hand.

Thanks for any info!

Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: '69 350 300hp questions.

Look at the heads. Get the casting #s. Nothing else matters. Not the silly-a$$ "rating" for its HP, not the sheet metal it was wrapped in, not even the nice romantic year of alleged origin. All of that is just a waste of effort.

A: Depends on your goals; but IMO, since it's a EFI car, leave it EFI, don't carb it
B: Some EFI system other than TPI
C: Depends on their condition. OTOH putting a rear end that consumes that much power needlessly for no benefit, isn't going to help your ET.

It's slowly on its way to being a full drag car. Just figured I'd use this motor to enjoy the car a little more while I saved up for a better drive train.
