Engine and Transmission swap on a 86 IROC z camaro
Hi I have a 86 iroc z camaro with a 305 and a 5 speed manual transmission. I am taking the motor and tranny out and putting in a 383 stroker with a 4 speed saginaw tranny out of a 69 camaro. My problem is the bell housing on the 4 speed saginaw is set up for a manual clutch and my car is set up for a hydrualic clutch. The bellhousing doesnt have a mounting bracket for the slave cylinder. if ibuy a bellhousing for a mid 90s z28 with the 350 will my hydraulic clutch set up have enough power to work the clutch on the 383?
My only other option is to convert my car to a manual clutch system and use the bellhousing I have. How hard is it to convert it?

I would suggest you consider an f-body LT1 T56.
Is the 383 going to be one-piece RMS and internally balanced? If so, everything from the LT1 will fit. If 2-piece or external balance, you'll need a special flywheel.

its a 2 piece so i have to get the special flywheel. Where is a good place to get the conversion flywheel?

If you go with the T5, you'll need an externally-balanced 153-tooth flywheel.
If you go with the T56, you'll need an externally-balanced 153-tooth flywheel. I wouldn't call myself an expert on them, but I believe they are different flywheels.
Look on summitracing.com, search on drivetrain, flywheels, etc., selecting the appropriate choices as you go. For instance, doing this gets you this for the T56 option: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mc...make/chevrolet
