400 sbc with factory TPI: possible?

So i have a 400 sbc and I was wondering if it was possible to make good power by using the factory TPI in my 91 camaro? The engine will be bored .30 over, has a crank that is -.20 under, and i will be using a set of heads off an old Chevelle 350. Those heads flow 1.94 i believe, and I already know that I have to drill holes in the heads for the steam holes. With increased compression from the heads, what Cam would work best for this set-up? I know i will have to get bigger injectors and a computer tune.
Thanks for any input!

No it is not possible to make "good" power. TPI, being the severe limit that it is to even a 305's performance potential, will totally choke a 400.

Don't bother with those old heads unless they're one of the better castings. Not many were. Post the casting # and we can tell you right away whether you have 160 HP door stops, or potentially 300 HP runners.

I would STRONGLY advise against putting TPI on a 400, even though it will bolt right up and "work". Remember, just because a thing "can be" done, doesn't automatically make it "A Good Idea" to do it.

Hsr, miniram or superram would be the way to go.

The TPI is a torque monster because of the runner length, The base fact that the TPI falls flat on it's face at Higher RPM's isn't good. And then you want to run 350 heads which are more air restrictive probably like 185 CFM maybe at best with I think 65CC heads.. *I think that is wrong and possible lower* Someone step in with the exact numbers.. I think you would be wasting your time and be unhappy with the final result.

Bad idea. TPI already falls flat after 4500 on 305/350 motors. If you want TPI on that big of a motor, go FIRST or as mentioned above, HSR, MR, or SR. Or, go single plane EFI.
