I have a 1992 camaro with a v6 3.2l engine and saw a 5.0 v8 engine with a manual transmission for 500. I don't know what to do or if its a good choice. I would really appreciate your guys opinion.

 

Somewhere on the trans should be a tag. write down all the numbers on that tag, then post them up here. What year are they claiming the 305 to be? What does it include? Are the valve covers center-bolt or perimeter-bolt? Will they let you pull one off to find the casting number? On the rear of the block, on the driver's side, where the transmission bellhousing attaches, you'll find the casting number of the block. Post up every casting number you can get. Without those numbers, it isn't worth much more than scrap.
