Re: Junkyard 89 IROC build

Easiest way for me since I don't have a lift is to pull the engine from the top and the trans from the bottom. Now if I had a lift i'd pull everything from the bottom.

I bought these SLP shorties off of springer4 last night. My exhaust shop is going to love me when I tell them to make me a custom y pipe to fit them.

That wouldn't be good would it? Luckily it's a summit engine stand that won't roll worth crap once you put weight on it.

Sounds like my HF stand, the wheels fall off when you roll it around.

Re: Junkyard 89 IROC build

Two items need to be addressed that I had forgotten about. When the steering column was removed in the scrap yard someone broke two switches off the bracket in front of the brake pedal. The one on the left I believe is the brake switch. The one on the right I think has something to do with the cruise control? If anyone knows what it is let me know so I can purchase one.

Re: Junkyard 89 IROC build

For the past couple of weeks I've been dealing with alot of lower back pain, but it cut me a break today and I was able to get the port work started on my Stealth Ram. All I have left to do is to smooth the ports out, getting rid of the marks left from cutting and sanding.

It has some clear coat peeling around the ttops and the front bumper is a mess butbthe body is perfect. The car is worth way more than the $300 the scrap yard gave the p.o..

Does anyone know how many coils to cut off of monster truck springs to get a proper stance. I swear I didn't install a lift kit on it.

Does anyone know where to find the retainer clips for the injector plugs? Found them on ebay once but can't find them now.

Sure glad you got that engine installed. Every time I scrolled by that pic of the engine stand wheels a couple of inches from the top step...

Nice progress from junkyard to current condition. I am enjoying watching someone do a build other than dropping in an LS1. Subscribed just for that reason.

I don't have anything against ls swaps but there's nothing wrong with a good old fashioned gen 1 sbc.

I still have to throw the stealth ram, headers, and radiator back on it but that's not enough weight to make a difference in it's stance.

Yeah, I was thinking of painting it green with some heavy flake and putting a gas monkey sticker on it. Or your could donate that new piece you got to help add weight.
