350 swap in my 1988 Firebird Formula
Ok so I had a knock/rattle in my engine so I pulled the pan off, and I find the rod cap is burn't and it spun a bearing. So I thought I could get away with replacing it, little did I find out the crank is, lets just say toast. So I just got the engine out this weekend. Now I'm waiting on the engine to arrive, it's a 5.7 350 TBI out of a 1993 Silverado 1500 2WD. Nothing special, but I'm going to freshen it up and enjoy it. My list of things to replace/do is Smog delete belt, upper hoses, Transmission seals, transmission mount, plug wires, paint maifolds, cap and rotor replacement, oil and filter. I complete deleted the emissions junk and plugged the manifolds where the old air tubes were. The car had 2 1/4" Straight pipes on it and I immediately cut that off. I'm replacing that with a 3" stainless Borla system, should have a much better sound
