To swap or not to swap
I been debating on doing this swap for about a week, lets see what you guys think.
I have owned my 85 Iroc for about 2 years now and I was working on restoring it and planning on beefing up the 350 a little (heads, cam, ect..) but a week ago I traded a BMW I had with computer problems for a 2000 Camaro SS with 72k miles. Car looks, drives and sounds great. Its been my DD for the week I have owned it.
So my question is do I strip the SS and swap the LS1, 4L60E, gas tank rear diff. ect.. into my Iroc or hold off and keep building the 350
I have attached a picture of both cars as they sit today.
I would love your opinions, good or bad.
Thanks in advance

What would go in the SS then? The easiest and cheapest thing to do is keep the LS1 where it is and just rebuild the 350. It'll keep the originality of the Iroc but with better performance. Also that means you'll have two cars that arent running for a while, swaps dont happen overnight.

Thanks for the reply.
I wont have any use for the SS so ill sell or scrap the body and whatever is left over. I know swaps dont happen overnight I was going to take my time and make sure everything is done as good as possible on the Iroc. I have my Wrangler to get around till the swap is done.

Personally, I'd keep the 2000 intact and find something else for the 3rd gen. I can't see the logic of taking apart a perfectly good car and parting/scrapping it out, when you can get what you need from cars/trucks that'll never be on the road again before becoming the 3rd gen donor.

Re: To swap or not to swap
I don't understand why you'd strip a perfectly good SS for the drivetrain. There are plenty of wrecks, or individually acquired LS parts available that will result in less net cost than sacrificing a fully functional, valuable car.
With respect as whether to modify the 85's 350 vs. an LS swap, I would want to know more about the 350 that's in it before trying to make a recommendation.
