that turned out awesome! great fab work. nice routing and plenty of mounting points. oval pipe too. great job. I am jealous.
Thanks for the compliments. I just cant leave well enough alone. I wanted to powdercoat the intake black. So I took it off and just tried to get the brushed look with wd40 and red scotch brite and it actually looks really neat. I then matte black painted the fender pipe. You dont really see it and dont really care how its turns out but it give me reference. If you could give me your opinion it would help me decide.
I'm torn. Like the black. But hate dealing with paint if it gets chipped or scratched. The brushed look..just looks different. Hate polished personally. Well not the polish , it looks sharp in an engine bay. Just hate the upkeep. Thanks
So here the final intake pic. Researched a trick to use WD40 and red scotch brite to get a brushed look. Then wipe down with acetone for quick flash off.
So ran into an issue trying to fire. The dual sync distributor is very tight going in. Had a hell of a time getting the oil shaft lined up with everything. Finally got I in and wanted to fire it. But good thing I did another once over. Hardened steel distributor gear , looked at the crane cams card and called them. Cam was cut and has cast iron gear. So wont work. They recommended I change distributor gear to cast iron. Called Holley and they reiterated the same advice. So distributor is at Reids automotive in Whitman getting this done today. Almost there.
Well got it fired. Sounds nasty. Good oil pressure 55lbs. Brought it up to temp and shut it down. Got a small leak around dipstick. It's a lokar with the orings. Think its coming from there. Had one small leak at trans oil cooler fitting. No leaks on manifold or block besides the pan area near dipstick.
Thank you. Stay tuned. I found a leak on the pan and tried a quick fix in the car and while it did fix most of it it's still seeping. Gasket broke in one place. Long story short I'm going to pull it and have the machine shop do it and change out the pan as well. While it's there it's going to get dynoed as well. So as soon as I can get this engine out I will post updates. Thanks for checking in.
So a little update. Got the motor out by myself, again. Getting good at this. It's on the roller stand. Tpis happy hooker worked out perfect. Had to change direction with the shop being used. Originally was going to bring it Reids in Whitman. Wanted to dyno it there. But they dont have the harnesses and such to do efi. So I contacted Golens in Hudson NH. Anyone have info on this shop?Have good reviews and seem knowagable over the phone. They do Holley and have everything there. Going to use a 13-080T Canton pan. Rear lip is soaked. So I guess I found my leak. So will get it broken in and dynoed hopefully next week.

I run the canton road race pan with the one piece pan gasket. One thing I had to do was run sealant around the whole gasket on both sides. Mine leaked if I didn't.
It's funny . Bother ends have rtv on the lips and corners. Nothing on the sides and it didnt leak there. Wet on the back lip. Do you have the power pouch on yours?
Short update. They broke in the motor ar Golens in NH and did a few pulls. Going up tm to pick it up after a few pulls. Only 2 changes they did on the motor. The couldnt use my cnp setup because they couldn't get the harness from holley and I didn't provide mine. They also had to use a 58mm lt1 TB because their harness was setup for the Lt1 style tb sensors. Everything went perfect. 2 oil changes , no metal in filter, everything good. Preliminary numbers 560hp at 6400rpm. Pretty happy. Done on 93 octane. Will update Tm with video and pictures of actual dyno sheet.

Great numbers! Are you going to switch back to the cnp setup?
