TUrbo 350 question

I would like to know if the Turbo 350 will mate up to any of the TPI motors that came in the camaro or corvette? If so what years would that be? Reason I ask is because I am wanting to swap my existing gen 1 350 out for a TPI motor with all the brackets and accessories if possible. Currently have a newly rebuilt turbo 350 and do not wish to get rid of it.

thanks!

Re: TUrbo 350 question

Of course. All of them. TPI is just an intake system, doesn't change the basic fact that it's on top of a small block Chevy, and therefore any motor that it fits, will also fit a Turbo 350. (assuming it's a Chevy-case one)

You might need a different flex plate depending on what motor you end up with, but that's not a consequence of TPI, Turbo 350, or any of that; just, whether the flex plate you have now is 1- or 2-pc rear main seal, vs whatever your hypothetical TPI motor comes with depending on its age.

A Turbo 350 won't go into one of these cars without a certain amount of extra effort though. You'd be better off selling it and turning it into something else that will.

Sofaking,

thanks for the quick reply. Let me clarify.....I have a 72 blazer that I wish to remove the existing motor from and replace with the vette or camaro TPI motor, brackets and all. I really dont want to mess with the T350 as it mates up to the NP205 Xfer case and that is a whole other mess of worms.

My main question is simply one of, what year of the gen 3 camaros would be the least difficulty to mate up to the t350? I've not had much exposure to that particular 350 configuration and truthfully not even sure the motor mounts are similiar. Just looking for some basic info on compatability.

your help is truly appreciated.
