question abour valve breathers and Pcv valve
Ok a little over a year ago I had a carbed 383 installed in my RS replacing my 305, the mechanic who did it did a good job and everything seemed fine....well today I was driving my car for the first time in months because It has been down because of bad starter rely.. anyways I noticed some smoke, steam fumes whatever coming from my valve cover breathers, I have one on each valve cover...I have never noticed this when I ran engine previosily so I did some research and eveything I have read says that I should not run engine with 2 breathers and no pvs valve but either one breather and one pvc valve or 2 breathers wih one having a pcv valve built in. When looking at my car it does not appear to have a pvc valve hooked up at all. My question is if I should have one how do I go about hooking one up?I notice my edelbrock carb had a port coming off the front of it which it capped is this for pvc vlave? can I buy one of these valve breathers http://www.summitracing.com/parts/spe-4284/overview/ and run a line from carb to port or is there more to it than this... I am worried because I have spent too much time and money on this engine to have it blow on me. Also when I took one of the breathers off I noticed a little build up of gunk in it.

It will work, and that is all you need (along with a piece of hose) - if your valve cover has a 3/4" grommet, and the cover has a baffle on the inside.
