Building a vortec headed 350 need help on rocker arms

I'm building a 350 with vortec heads, I want to know what are the best rocker arms to use with vortecs, I've been told scorpions work good because they have the narrow body to clear stock valve covers. Also ill need guide plates, are they specific for vortec heads or will any sbc ones work?

If you use guide plates, any normal style rocker will work. Without guide plates you will need self-aligning rockers.

Just make sure you don't use guide plates and self-aligning rockers. That caused me a bunch of valve geometry issues.

I wouldn't risk it, those covers aren't the tallest things out there.

Height is not the issue
A narrow rocker is required to clear the 4 pedestals that the cover mounting bolts go through to the head .

These are the covers I have and I had to remove a little metal from them to clear my Scorpions. It was easy though.

Are you going to increase the rocker ratio or using a cam bigger than 500 lift?.
