Hi, guys!

I've got my engine from the truck, so i already ordered new flywheel, heads, cam, clutch etc... Now i discovered that truck brackets won't fit my car.

So, i'm trying to clarify whether V6 4.3 accessory brackets will allow to close hood on Firebird with '93 5.7 installed. I know, 4.3 brackets will bolt right in V8, but there's nothing told about alternator and AC clearance to hood.

And if somebody has gone through brackets swap to March or similar ones, please, show me exact type of needed (alt on driver's side, AC on passenger), there's a mess in my head now after reading lots of info.

I tried this with brackets a serp belt set up from a 94 4.3, no they will not work, they stick up a good few inches above the fender line, not a chance of closing the hood. You have to get the brackets for our cars, they have the A/C and alternators positioned low enough to close the hood, others have them sitting up too high.

 

I had truck accessories in my 85. Fit just fine even with the stock hood. They were off of a 1993 4.3 c1500.
