Second build (and also gauge problems)
Well I have decided to stop my 85 trans am ls build, and put it's heart into an 1988 gta. And things have gone well... until the water gauge problems have started to haunt me. And I figure here would be a grate place to ask a few questions.
Now first off the only aftermarket gauge I want to run is a tack. I want to keep all other gauges factory (mostly because I don't want to mouth aftermarket gauges all over the car until I pull the hole gauge cluster and make a new one.)
Now the oil pressure was easy, however I have not been able to find a fitting for the trans am's sending unit that will allow it to go into the block. Right now I have an aftermarket sending unit in there and it seems to be working however i'm not 100% on it's accuracy. So I was wanting to know if you all knew of a better way to get the sending unit to work with that motor (with out stacking 2 or 3 fitting on top of each other).
Now this thread is not just about my gauge problem (in fact as soon as it is solved I am taking that part down and just going to leave and answer.). It is also to post picks and info about my new build.
Also feel free to ask any questions about it.
1988 Trans am gta: full cage, suspension, and sub frame conecters
LQ4 swap: carbed, headers.
9 moser: 33 spline axles, 4:11 richmond.

The only coolant temp gauge sender adapters I've seen for LS heads are for aftermarket gauges. The factory sending unit is just too big.
Some have drilled and tapped the head for a larger sending unit.
