Hey guys, here's some back ground on the car first off. I bought an 88 305 tpi camaro z28 with a fiberglass front clip, fenders and hood for 1500. Sounds to good to be true? Well it was the engine had a minor miss. Went through a basic tune up. Cleaned up the miss and the engine developed a real bad knock. I was able to buy a junkyard 350 tbi out of a old silverado for 150$. Swapped my tpi, installed the engine. Here's my issue engine runs great but I can't seem to get the transmission to engage. I can select gears but nothing grabs? Any ideas guys? Tranny is a 700r4

Did the transmission work before you pulled the 305?

Are you sure the torque converter is properly engaged with the transmission front pump?

 

I finally figured it out, had a torque converter issue
