Planning Engine Swap for Next Year

Hello everyone, as the title to this thread states I'm beginning the plans for completing the build on my 1987 IROC next year including a motor/trans swap.

Here's a little background on the car. The car came with the 5.7L TPI and automatic transmission. I've owned it since the mid-90s. Over the years, I had made numerous upgrades including a fully built Ford 9" rear, full Hotchkiss suspension, brake upgrades, etc. it's been sitting collecting dust for more than a decade. I've finally decided its time to plan her completion.

The first thing I want to do is pull the original 5.7L and replace it with the Blueprint Engines PS4271CT and want to top the motor with a stacked injection system.

So my question is whether anybody has any experience with this crate motor and/or stacked injection systems on our third gen Camaros. Want to make sure I'm accounting for any potential pitfalls now, so the project runs nice and smooth when I get it going again. Thanks.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

I personally do not have any experience with Blueprint engines. I have heard a lot of negative things about them with regard to quality, customer service, etc. Seems risky to me to spend that much money on a big small block from an outfit with a shaky reputation.

On the other hand, rarely hear a complaint about Scott Shafiroff engines (whom I have also not had any experience with personally - but know many who have).

I can't imagine using a stack injection system on a street engine, but it appears SSRE can: http://www.ultrastreet.net/engines/4...et_inglese.php Cowl hood required, I would think.
