I got a 88 iroc z28 in good shap cheap. the motor thats in it is a 305 tbi but smokes bad all the time changed plugs wires an thicker oil still smokes an slugish.maybe rings.
im low on cash so cant Do a rebuild

so i have a 305 carb in my back yard that has been rebuilt a year ago.
what i want to do is pull the smoker out an drop the 305 carb in but want it tbi.
can I just swap everything form the tbi motor to the carb to make it tbi. im low in cash i just want running car that i can drive with out foging up everyone an being pulled over.

 

from what i understand its just swap the intake and tbi to the new motor and all the sensors

 

I thought so. I was going to start on it today but the spot i was going to work at is loaded with bees stung the **** out of me lol.
anyways someone told me i need some kind of plate for the TB

one more thing The iroc has a 700 trans shifts good but i also have a 350 turbo in the back should i swap the trans on leave it?

 

the 350 is a 3 speed with no OD and the 700 is a 4 speed with OD the 350 need more work to put up the 700 doesnt
