So its been decided after rummaging on here to put a 5.3 in my 89. The plan is to turbo it come spring but wanna do the transplant first. I know there is a crapton of how tos but im just looking for the best motor mounts people have actually used. Im using a truck 5.3. Car has a 5 inch cowl so the alternator will fit on top. What other oilpan's have people used that fit? Im sure illhave more as this goes.

 

Also another question I have is gonna be revolving around the wiring harness. Yes I know there is a billion and 8 about how to wire it up but my question is do people who have done it prefer to buy one and just clip together or take the 5.3 harness and finagle it to work with whats currently in the car. As of now this is a budget build. I want to get it running first so I can pull it back apart and then dump some money into the motor.

 

also will a third gen 700r4 work?ive heard yes AND no.

 

I know for the th400 im hooking up to it I need a th400 flex plate. I think they both will bolt right up just need a flexplate for the flywheel. Not a 100% on it though. Well I am on the th400
