hey guys. i plan on swapping out my 305 after i replace the transmission. i was looking at getting a 650hp rated rebuilt 700r4 from monster transmission. eventually i'd like to build an engine up to about 450-500 horses. what do you guys think would be the cheapest/easiest way to achieve that? i was thinking buying an lt1 383 and maybe building that up a bit more. what do you guys think?

also, monster transmission offers a 500 hp rated 700r4 for 200$ less. do you think i should just bite the 200 and not have to worry about it handling?

 

Cheapest route to that kind of power with any sort of reliability would be turbo 5.3/4l80e

For NA, you need displacement, so stroker SBC for budget, bbc for deeper pockets

I'd stay away from the 700r4 for that sort of build
