Sensor locations for a CCC carbed L98
Ok-
So now the real fun begins..
Going with a CCC qjet (non TPI obviously) on top of a L98 with Vortecs...
Sensors seem to go in different locations than the L69 -- I.e. Oil. Temp, knock, etc..
Anybody have a diagram to match up sensors ?
Thanks!

You put them in the same locations they were for the L69.
Oil pressure sender goes behind the intake manifold. If the L98 block has a port by the oil filter, plug it.
The port size for the temp gauge sender might be different, but I don't recall that specifically off the top of my head. The CTS goes in the thermostat housing, just like it did for the L69.
The knock sensor goes in the passenger side block water jacket drain, just like the L69.
Nothing else is directly associated with the block or heads.

Ok, I need to clarify that it's an L98 with Vortec heads, and a Vortec performer carb intake.
There are different sensor locations on this intake manifold. Some are the same location - but most are different from the L69. I'll try to post pics soon

Only one "sensor" goes in the intake; IIRC it's the EFE vacuum switch, not a "sensor". That's the only one that there should be any potential for lacking a hole.
All the others go in the heads, the block, or the water outlet.
The knock sensor goes in the pass side coolant drain. Oil pressure sending unit goes in the block next to the dist. All blocks have those same holes; have since 1955.

The water neck/thermostat housing has 2 holes. One is (I think) TVS? for the charcoal canister and the other is for the ECM, right ? However, it doesn't appear to have any electrical connections so that doesn't make sense.. Last edited by Chuck84TA; Oct 17, 2014 at 11:57 PM.

Right: water outlet has 2 holes; one for the coolant temp sensor for the ECM, one for EFE TVS.
CTS gets a conn w 1 yel & 1 blk wire; EFE TVS gets 2 vacuum lines.
